Frequently Asked Questions.

Whats the main differences between the Regular, Pro, and Commercial setup.

The Regular ice bath is suitable for the majority of people and can accommodate one person with the lowest temperature of 3°C. Although the recommended temperature range may not be as low as some professional athletes prefer, it still falls within the typical range of ice baths (between 3°C and 15°C), making our Regular ice bath effective at providing the benefits of an ice bath while ensuring the equipment lasts for a long time.

The Pro model is more powerful and suited for experienced users, with a lowest temperature of 2°C and a stronger cooling power of 1/2 HP, while still accommodating only one person. The Commercial model is designed for commercial use and can accommodate two people, with a lowest temperature of 2°C and a high cooling power of 1 HP.

These recommended temperature ranges are chosen to balance the cooling power of the system with the longevity of the equipment, and are based on ambient temperatures of 25-35°C. However, in environments with lower temperatures, such as inside an air-conditioned gym, the ice bath tubs may reach even lower temperatures.

Why is the EverestPod the best ice bath setup on the market?

First and foremost, it offers premium quality and performance that is on par with the high-end ice bath setups found in luxury gyms and health spas, which typically cost between $5,000 and $10,000. This means that everyday people can now enjoy the benefits of a professional-grade ice bath in the comfort of their own home.

Another key advantage of the EverestPod is its chilling unit, which sets it apart from most direct-to-consumer ice bath tubs that are often just blow-up pools, metal tubs, or barrels that require the purchase of bags of ice. The chilling unit in the EverestPod ensures that the water stays at a consistent and safe temperature, without the need for frequent ice refills or messy cleanup. This allows users to focus on their recovery and reap the full benefits of the ice bath experience

What is the current shipping time for the EverestPod?

Due to the high demand for the EverestPod and our commitment to providing the highest quality product, the current shipping time is 4-6 weeks. We now also have the express shipping upgrade.

The high demand for this product is a testament to its quality, and as you wait for it to arrive, rest assured that you are getting the best ice bath setup available in Australia at over $1,000 off the regular price. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to get your EverestPod to you as quickly as possible.

What temperature can the EverestPod maintain?

The EverestPod is designed to maintain a temperature range of 2 to 15 degrees celsius. While the outside temperature can affect the temperature inside the EverestPod to some extent, the pod is built with high-quality insulation materials that help to keep the temperature stable.

The walls and lid of the pod are made of a thick layer of insulating material that prevents heat exchange with the outside environment, allowing the pod to maintain the desired temperature range even in fluctuating external temperatures.

What is the ideal temperature for a cold plunge/ice bath?

For those new to cold exposure, we recommend starting with a temperature range of 10-15°C. This temperature range provides a challenging but manageable experience that allows you to acclimate to the cold gradually. It's important to note that this temperature range is still extremely cold, and it may take some time to get used to it. To put it into perspective, a typical cold shower in Australia is around 20-25°C.

Attempting to go below 7°C for your first ice bath is not recommended. Such extreme cold can be dangerous and increase the risk of hypothermia or other health complications. We recommend 3°C as the absolute coldest temperature to avoid any potential health risks.

It's crucial to understand that everyone's tolerance for cold is different, so what works for one person may not work for another. Gradually lowering the temperature over time as you become more comfortable with the cold is a safer approach.

Remember to always listen to your body and avoid overexposure to cold water. If you have any health concerns or medical conditions, consult with a healthcare professional before starting cold exposure.

What are the cold protocols that are a part of the bundle?

The Cold Protocols is an ebook with a set of guidelines and best practices for using ice baths to achieve specific goals, such as recovery, relaxation, or performance enhancement.

It includes information on temperature, duration, frequency, preparation, and post-ice bath recovery, as well as tips and tricks for enhancing the experience. It's a great resource to help you get the most out of your ice bath sessions.

How long should I stay in a cold plunge/ice bath?

Generally, it is recommended to start with short sessions of around 1-2 minutes and gradually increase the duration as you become more accustomed to the cold. Most people tend to stay in the cold plunge or ice bath for 5-10 minutes, but it ultimately depends on your personal preference and tolerance for the cold.

How often do I need to replace the water?

The frequency of water replacement depends on several factors, including usage, temperature, and maintenance of the unit. As a general rule, we recommend changing the water every 2-3 weeks for personal use, but it's important to monitor the water quality regularly and replace it as needed based on visual inspection, odour, and other factors.

The water is constantly circulating and includes a water filter/strainer, which helps to maintain clean water. If the water appears cloudy or has an unpleasant odour, it's time to replace it regardless of the frequency.

Additionally, we offer an optional UV filter upgrade for our units. The UV filter utilises ultraviolet light to disinfect the water without the use of chemicals such as chlorine. The UV lamp emits a wavelength that damages the DNA of microorganisms, rendering them unable to reproduce and therefore eliminating them from the water. The UV filter can help extend the time between water replacements by reducing the growth of microorganisms in the water.

We still recommend regular monitoring and maintenance of the water to ensure the best possible water quality.

Can I change the water or drain it easily in the Everestpod?

The Everestpod is designed with a quick-drain system that allows you to easily drain the water. To use this system, simply connect the drain hose to the designated outlet and release the water. Once the water has drained out, you can refill the pod with fresh water and allow it to reach the desired temperature. The quick-drain system makes it easy to maintain and clean the Everestpod between uses.

The water is constantly circulated through the chilling unit, which has a filter, so it is constantly being cleaned. However, it's still recommended to change the water every 1-2 weeks depending on how often it is being used, just like a pool. You can also add additives like chlorine to prevent bacteria. Keeping the water clean is important for maintaining the longevity of the equipment and ensuring a hygienic experience.

What are the benefits of using an ice bath instead of a cold shower?

While both cold showers and ice baths can provide some benefits, ice baths are generally considered more effective for reducing inflammation, speeding up recovery, and improving overall athletic performance. The extreme cold of an ice bath causes blood vessels to constrict, which can help flush out metabolic waste and reduce inflammation in muscles and joints more effectively than a cold shower.

Do regular ice baths help for chronic inflammation and pain.

Yes, regular ice baths may help to reduce chronic inflammation and pain. The cold temperature of the water can help to decrease swelling and inflammation by constricting blood vessels and reducing blood flow to the affected area. This can help to reduce pain and improve overall recovery.

However, it's important to note that ice baths should not be used as the sole treatment for chronic inflammation and pain. It's always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Is maintenance/cleaning required for the ArticFlow Cooling Unit?

If the ArticFlow Cooling Unit is excessively dusty, the fans may require cleaning similar like any other fans. However, since water is constantly flowing, the internal components do not require cleaning.

Is there any plumbing required?

No. The water simply circulates between the chiller and the tub.
